Sirius faces Gif Sundsvall at Studenternas IP at 7 pm tonight after Sweden's World Cup round of 16 match against Switzerland. Mats Karlström, the information officer for Sirius, hopes for a good attendance if Sweden wins. Sirius is last in the Allsvenskan table with five points in eleven rounds. The meeting between Sirius and Gif Sundsvall was supposed to be played already in round two, but was postponed due to the fact that Studenternas lawn was considered too poor. Now it looks much better, says Mats Karlström. Sirius currently has a attendance of 2200 people for the match. It's not that bad, but it's about attendance, which includes season tickets and all that. Sirius did not consider bringing in a large screen and broadcasting Sweden's match at Studenternas or something similar, as it is a cost issue. Mats Karlström says that Sirius has a lot of sports bars in Uppsala that will be sold out during Sweden's match, and that they are within a very short distance from the arena. If it's not too much with extra time and so on, you have an hour to get down. Sirius hopes that Sweden will advance in the World Cup, so that people will be eager for more football. Studenternas IP looks great before the match, says Mats Karlström. Compared to then... it's like comparing a hostel with Hilton. It's a fantastic pitch now. It provides all the conditions for good Sirius football. The match between Sirius and Gif Sundsvall starts at 7 pm and can be seen on C More Sport, in Sportkanalen and on cmore.se/sport. Sweden's match against Switzerland starts at 4 pm and can be seen on TV4, on C More Football and on cmore.se/sport.
