IK Sirius faces Malmö FF in Allsvenskan 2026 on Saturday, 31 August. The match at Studenternas IP in Uppsala kicks off at 18:00 and is broadcast live by the sports channel TNT Sports, according to a match preview published by the outlet.
Sirius enters the fixture as the league leaders in Allsvenskan. After 18 matches, the team has 42 points from 13 wins, three draws, and just two losses. Recent form has been a bit uneven with two losses followed by three wins, giving a form line of LLDWW. The team has scored 47 goals and conceded 26, resulting in a goal difference of +21. The six-point lead over second-placed Hammarby FF provides some breathing room ahead of the final stretch of the season.
The team's strong season so far is built on a functioning attack. With 47 goals scored, Sirius is one of the most potent teams in the league. The defence has also maintained a good level with only 26 goals conceded. The recent form, however, shows some inconsistency with two straight losses at the start of August, but the three consecutive wins that followed demonstrate the team's ability to bounce back. This stability will be needed against heavy opposition like Malmö FF.

A home win against Malmö would further strengthen Sirius's grip on the league title. With a six-point lead, the team has a buffer, but points against direct rivals are always extra valuable. A loss, however, would shrink the margin and give new hope to the chasing pack. On paper, this is one of the tougher remaining home games this season.
After this encounter, Sirius has a break in league play before the next match. It is played at home against Degerfors IF on 14 September. Degerfors currently sits in 14th place in the table, making it a match where Sirius is expected to take points. All information about upcoming matches is available on our fixtures page.
