Fan representative Tryggve Pederby has shared his thoughts on IK Sirius's recent drop in points in the Allsvenskan. Despite three consecutive losses, Sirius still leads the league by six points, according to our standings.

In an interview with SVT Nyheter, long-time fan representative Tryggve Pederby described a mix of emotions. He notes that three losses in a row are starting to be felt in the stands. But he also points out that the dream of European play in 2027, long chanted ironically, now feels more real than ever.

Pederby, a former board member of Västra Sidan and chairman of the SFSU, says the fans have kept perspective. "Regardless, we must not forget that if we finish second, third or fourth it will be the best season we have ever had," he says. He notes that interest in the club is high with sold-out stands and a growing base of new, young supporters.

According to match statistics from the BBC, the numbers from the 1-0 loss to Malmö FF on August 31st show an uneven picture. Sirius had 53% possession and took 17 shots, but only two were on target. Malmö created more dangerous chances with six shots on goal.

Pederby still believes he saw positive signs in that match. "We didn't manage to score, but we were close and the play looked much better," he told SVT. The team has so far scored 47 goals and conceded 27 in 19 matches, giving a goal difference of +20. Detailed statistics are on our stats page.

On Saturday, September 6th, the Aros derby away against rivals Västerås SK FK awaits. Pederby describes the mood as tense. "It's very nervous, if we lose now it feels completely over. Everyone feels bad right now," he explains.

The match is key for breaking the negative trend. Sirius currently has 42 points from 13 wins, three draws and three losses. Västerås sits in eighth place in the table. All upcoming matches are listed on our fixtures page.

The last five rounds have yielded a form curve of loss, loss, loss, draw and win (LLLDW). This dip has reduced the lead at the top, but Sirius still sits securely in first place. The team's most recent win came away to Halmstad on August 3rd.

Subsequent matches against Häcken and Mjällby both ended in defeat. Despite this, it's important to remember the team is still top of the Allsvenskan in 2026. The next chance to turn the trend comes in the derby against Västerås on September 6th.
