Sirius have broken Swedish Football Association rules by trying to block a loaned player from facing them. The club requested that Noel Milleskog, who is on loan at Degerfors, not be allowed to play in Monday's match between the sides, reports UNT.

Jonathan Ederström, head of Sirius men's team, confirmed the existence of a gentleman's agreement in the podcast 'Are you Sirius?'. "Det finns ett gentlemens agreement mellan klubbarna att Noel inte spelar på måndag," Ederström told Daniel Meisels. Milleskog has already played one match for Degerfors, a 2-0 win against Halmstad.

The rule breach

Under SvFF rules, a parent club is not allowed to influence the use of a loaned player in this manner. Sirius's action therefore constitutes a direct breach of regulations. It is unclear whether Degerfors will respect the agreement or if the association will intervene.

Sirius's current situation

The incident comes as Sirius sit top of Allsvenskan with 45 points from 20 games. They hold a five-point lead over Hammarby FF. In their last outing, they beat Vasteras SK FK 1-0 thanks to a goal from Jesper Uneken. Their next fixture is away to bottom-side Orgryte IS on September 19.

Matthias Nartey is currently sidelined through injury and unavailable to the manager.
