IK Sirius have just one player with a contract expiring this year. The 32-year-old centre-back Simon Sandberg is the only squad member whose deal runs out on 31 December 2026.
The club has one of the most stable squads in Allsvenskan for contract length. The majority of players are tied down until 2027 or beyond, with several key names secured until 2029 and later. This provides the coaching staff and sporting director with an unusually strong foundation for planning.
"There is one player who is on an expiring contract," was stated in a review of the situation. "Here we go through the entire contract situation at IK Sirius."
Long-term commitments
Several young talents have signed long-term deals. Midfielder Adam Vikman, 22, and striker Finlay Neat, 20, are both bound until the end of 2029. The 19-year-olds Neo Jönsson, Isaac Yawe Höök, Hugo Andersson Mella and August Ljungberg also have contracts stretching that far.
For the older and more established players, the picture is similar. Goalkeeper Ismael Diawara and defender Henrik Rönnlöf Castegren are secured until 2027. Midfielder Marcus Lindberg, who recently provided an assist, has a deal running until the summer of 2028.
Strong league position
This contract stability coincides with Sirius leading the Allsvenskan table. After 21 rounds, the team has 48 points and a seven-point lead over second place. Their last five matches have yielded three wins and two defeats, with a victory in the latest round against Degerfors.
With a squad secured for the long term, focus can be entirely on finishing the season strongly. The next fixture is away to Orgryte IS, who currently sit in 15th place.
The only current absentee from the squad is midfielder Matthias Nartey, who is sidelined with an injury. An overview of the entire squad shows the strength of the long-term project.
