Hammarby’s Victor Lind is fully convinced his side will catch up to league leaders IK Sirius. Nine points behind and with Sirius having played one fewer game, Lind believes Hammarby have what it takes to win the title. - I think we’ll catch Sirius in the end. 100 percent, he told Expressen.
Lind points to Hammarby’s squad strength and focused play under manager Henrik Rydström. - We have such a good team. If we just focus on ourselves, we’ll win matches, he explained. The opening win over Elfsborg showed, in Lind’s view, that the side is ready for the tough challenge ahead.
A new role under Rydström
Under Henrik Rydström, Victor Lind has taken on a different role. Instead of tracking his opponent as before, he now focuses more on his offensive duties. - In the press I can push forward a bit. I don’t have to follow my marker. For my offensive play it makes a big difference, Lind said.
Rydström commented on the change: - Victor is very loyal and works hard. I’ve done the same with Hugo Bolin, Taha Ali and Nanasi. For an attacking player it’s a bit tough to defend all the time, but Victor hasn’t complained. Today he showed he understands his new role.
